Turmeric Powder: Uses of The Golden Spice

If you’ve never tried turmeric before, you may wonder what the fuss is about. It’s a spice that comes from the root of the plant Curcuma longa, which is native to India and Southeast Asia.

Turmeric powder is rich in antioxidants and has been used as medicine for thousands of years by practitioners like yoga masters, Ayurvedic healers, and Chinese herbalists. It was first cultivated as an ornamental herb in India and later made into an ingredient in cooking in about 500BCE when it became available to Indians through trade routes with Persia (now Iran).

Grind it smooth.

To make the turmeric powder, you’ll need a mortar, pestle, or spice grinder. If you don’t have either of these options, other methods will work:

· Add some honey to the mixture before grinding it. The honey will help mask any bitterness in the turmeric flavour.

· Adjust how finely you grind your spices by adding more or less water as needed until they reach your desired consistency (this can also be done with other dried herbs like rosemary).

Add a pinch of turmeric powder to warm water

Turmeric is a natural sleep aid that can help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that may help reduce pain when you wake up or feel restless in the middle of the night.

To prepare turmeric tea:

  • Add one teaspoon of ground turmeric to one cup of warm water (the temperature should be between 100°F and 110°F). Stir well so that all the powder is dissolved in water before drinking it! You can add more or fewer teaspoons depending on how many cups you want to make at once.

The health benefits:

  • Turmeric offers many benefits for your overall health; here’s just one example: It lowers cholesterol levels by increasing HDL (good) cholesterol levels while decreasing LDL (bad) cholesterol levels.

Sprinkle some on your favourite buttered toast.

Turmeric powder is an excellent addition to your morning cereal and can be used in many other recipes. If you want to take the flavour of turmeric one step further, try adding it to warm water and drinking it up for a good night’s sleep!

Make great frying bread by adding turmeric powder

  • Add turmeric powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper to a bowl. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
  • Coat food with this mixture before frying or baking it in the oven at high heat for about 20 minutes until golden brown on both sides (or longer if you prefer).

Make your curry powder

Turmeric is a spice that has been used for centuries, but it’s only recently gained popularity as a health food. The yellow-orange colour of turmeric comes from its active ingredient, curcumin, which has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects and other benefits when consumed regularly.

You can buy pre-ground turmeric powder at most grocery stores or health food stores—but you can also make your own! To do this:

  • Grate the fresh turmeric root using a box grater or an old potato peeler (this will take some time).
  • Crush up the grated root into small pieces with either mortar and pestle or in a blender (this will take less time). The consistency should be similar to flour; if not, add more fresh ground spices until desired texture is achieved.

Turmeric powder is delicious and very versatile in cooking.

Turmeric powder is a great spice to have in your kitchen. It has many health benefits, including anti-inflammatory properties. Turmeric is also used as a dye and for dying cloth, but it’s most commonly known as an essential part of curry powder.

Turmeric has been used for thousands of years, and it’s time to take it back! Turmeric is a fantastic spice that can be used in many recipes. It has powerful antioxidant properties, so you can be sure your food will have the maximum health benefits from this golden spice.
